What is Sunshine Place?

Sunshine Place is a 20 minute sitcom for kids that appears on Youtube. It is set in the colourful city of Arthaven, the story follows six friends who share their lives around the Super Juice Café and the Sunshine Shop. Together they face everyday problems, misunderstandings and comic disasters — always discovering that friendship, humour and small acts of kindness can move things forward.

It is also a live show suitable for festivals and theatres. Sunshine Place is supported by the Bright Yellow Thinkers Charity whose aim is to help children enter the arts.

Who we are

One Kind Productions is an ensemble of teachers and school staff

who write, perform and produce original entertainment for children

and families. We are not actors playing at being educators;

we are educators who understand our audience from the inside.

Every day, we see what makes children laugh, what holds their attention                                  and what helps them feel hopeful.

                      That experience gives our work a distinctive voice: accessible without being                                simplistic, playful without being chaotic, and positive without ever becoming                                preachy. Our cast brings real friendship, comic chemistry and a strong sense of                                         purpose to the stage.

Who is it for?

Sunshine Place is designed primarily for children of primary-school age, while including humour, characters and positive messages that parents, carers and teachers can also enjoy. It is particularly suited to family audiences, school groups and community events looking for uplifting entertainment with genuine educational and social value.

Sunshine Place offers more than a performance. It creates a welcoming world in which children can laugh, recognise familiar situations and see characters overcome problems through communication, creativity and kindness.

The production celebrates the idea that ordinary people can make a positive difference. Its messages are woven naturally into the comedy, allowing audiences to enjoy the story without feeling that they are being taught a lesson.
